GENTILE

I'm Trey Gentile, an Industrial Designer from Indianapolis, Indiana. I recently graduated from SCAD with a degree in Industrial Design and a minor in Kinetic Design. With a strong passion for drawing, I initially came to SCAD to study illustration before discovering industrial design at a career fair. I found a field that combined my interest in drawing with visual development, engineering, physical products, and hands-on problem-solving. My work spans concept development, sketching, CAD modeling, rendering, prototyping, and fabrication. I have developed much of this skill set through hands-on experimentation, including building and maintaining my own 3D printer and using it to rapidly prototype and test ideas throughout the design process.

My illustration background has given me a strong foundation in visual communication, while industrial design has pushed me to develop a more technical approach to drawing and modeling. I've also gained experience working on larger collaborative projects, including a SCAD Pro bus design project and leading a four-person team in SCAD's SandArts Festival Air Sculpture competition, where we designed and built a wind-powered sculpture that took first place.
